Nilson Reis is a retired Appeal’s Court Judge of the Tribunal de Justiça do Estado de Minas Gerais, where he served from 2001 to 2009, after having served at the Tribunal de Alçada of the State of Minas Gerais from 1997 to 2001. With a solid judicial career, he played a significant role in improving the judicial system in the State of Minas Gerais.

At the institutional level, he was President of the Instituto dos Advogados de Minas Gerais (2015–2017), where he stood out for strengthening the legal profession and promoting high-level legal debates.

He currently serves on the Legal Affairs Council of the Commercial Association of Minas Gerais and is a member of the City Forum for Strategic Affairs of Belo Horizonte, actively participating in initiatives aimed at the legal and social development of the city.

Nilson taught Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law at Unifenas, contributing to the education of new legal professionals. He is also the author of the book Mandado de Segurança, published by Del Rey Editora in 2000, a reference work on the subject. He remains an active full member of the Instituto dos Advogados de Minas Gerais.
